Editing Tricks for Amateur Vacation Video #3

Alaska Cruise 1989

We bought our first camcorder in 1989 in preparation for a family cruise to Alaska.   It was a Sony Handicam that used 120-minute 8mm analog videotapes.  I used six tapes during the trip; 75% is devoted to the shipboard entertainment and especially the showgirls.

HAH!!!  I'm glad I have nine hours of this stuff!

Lesson Learned:  Videotaped entertainment on-board a cruise ship does not withstand the test of time.

Suggestions:  Focus upon enjoying the cruise experience as it happens.  No need to record every event on the ship.
Since I've got it anyway, the audio portion of entertainment might mix well with video footage from a shore excursion.  Most ships have educational lectures about ports-of-call.  Maybe these would make a good narration for your edited video?
